| Food for Thought: The bad news is that every 13 seconds a home is burglarized. Less than 25% of break-ins are through a window; burglers don't like the noise. 62% of break-ins are through a first floor door or an unlocked entrance. Because of the inexpensive lock sets that builder and hardware stores have become the "standard" in our homes, we often overlook the true value of a good lock. Yes, a good lock can cost more than that last pair of running shoes you bought (but I bet the lock will last longer.) Are you comfortable enough to trust your personal safe haven, your home, to an inexpensive lock and risk the emotional stress of being burglarized? Good locks can prevent the crime from happening at all. Points to Ponder: Who has access to the keys to your home? Who do you hand your key chain to? The babysitter? The house keeper? The repairman? Co-workers? Do you mind if they make copies without your permission or even asking? If you had "Restricted Keys," you would have control of who could legally copy your keys!
